 It is with sad hearts that we must inform you of the passing of our friend and first fire chief, Bob Polk.  Chief Polk served from 1975 - 1980 as the fire chief and for many years following as the fire marshal of Polk County.  Please keep Chief Polk's family in your thoughts and prayers and we will update this page with arrangements as they become available.

Join us while we pay tribute to those who sacrifice for our freedom each and every day and give honor to those who served and paid the ultimate sacrifice on 9-11.

  • 5:00pm - Kids activities including a MINI BOOT CAMP, music. Military Displays, Food
  • 6:45pm Freedom Walk - A walk in honor of those who serve us daily.  A Bagpipe led walk through Downtown Winter Haven dedicated to our local heroes and their families.
  • 7:30pm - Memorial Observance with a keynote speaker. City, County and State Dignitaries. Special Luminary Service.

An evening for the community to honor ALL who wear the uniform.

First Responder Appreciation NightFirst Responder Appreciation Night

Auburndale Speedway will be providing free admission to Firefighters, EMTs, Paramedics, and Law Enforcement Officers on Saturday, September 11th, 2010.  Just show an official agency ID.  Gates open at 5:00 and racing begins at 7:00.  They will be featuring the Pro Truck Series along with other racing that night.

USFA recently made available a new National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) web-based data entry tool known as the Data Entry Browser Interface (DEBI). The new DEBI enables total web-based data entry into NFIRS, eliminating the need to download and install client software on the NFIRS user's computer.

 The Polk County Fire Rescue Division is the fire service branch of the Polk County Public Safety Department, which is part of the Polk County Board of County Commissioners.   We provide fire and rescue services for the unicorporated portions of Polk County through our network of 31 fire stations and a series of interlocal agreements with most of the 17 municipalities here in Polk. These interlocal agreements exist in the form of Automatic Aid, Mutual Aid, and contracted service.  We also provide service for the City of Eagle Lake, the City of Polk City, the City of Mulberry, the Town of Lake Hamilton, and the Town of Hillcrest Heights.
